Monastero Santa Margherita Wedding

An energetic and colorful autumn wedding at the Monastero Santa Margherita.
On one side, a breathtaking view of the hills, on the other, the history and charm of a medieval village, the Monastero Santa Margherita conveys the essence of Umbria, a land of pristine nature and millennia of history.
Holly and Tom’s fall wedding was particularly thoughtful, with floral arrangements that reflected the colors of the early autumn.
I’ve photographed this location countless times, and this day reminded me why it’s an excellent choice for your wedding in Todi.

Monastero Santa Margherita is a thoughtfully designed wedding venue, offering wide open spaces, a multi-level garden, and a perfect backdrop against the Umbrian hills. Variety and countless amenities, all in one place.
Located just outside the historic center of Todi, the Monastero is just steps from one of the city’s most famous monuments, Tempio di Santa Maria della Consolazione.
A lawn dedicated to the ceremony, a patio for the cocktail reception, and a garden with the walls of the ancient convent behind it for the reception make it easy to navigate throughout the day.
Whether it’s an intimate wedding or one with more than 100 guests, the atmosphere remains enchanting.

A Journey Through the Wedding Day
With my experience as a wedding photographer, I find that a Monastero Santa Margherita wedding offers a wide variety of settings, all in one location.
Here’s how Holly and Tom decided to use the Monastery’s most evocative spaces for their wedding day.
Preparations
The day began in one of the bride’s suites, where she got ready in the company of her closest friends and family. The room overlooks the Umbrian hills with a breathtaking view for those seeing it for the first time.
The groom got ready with his friends in a large stone room on the ground floor of the monastery.
Ceremony
The magnificent pine forest overlooking the valley served as the backdrop for the ceremony.
Guests sat under the large trees, awaiting the bride and groom’s entrance.
Holly made her entrance with her parents on a bed of petals, eliciting a moving response from all present.
At the end of the ceremony, the newlyweds made their exit amidst guests showering them with petals, then kissed at the bottom of the garden, celebrated by all their friends.
Portraits at Sunset
The golden hour is ideal for a photoshoot, especially when you have plenty of spots to take advantage of.
For the photos, we used the pool, the lower garden, and even the area in front of the white colonnade, which was decorated with a sofa and matching floral decorations by Florart Flower.
The shoot was a mix of candid photos and editorial portraits, all with clean, true-to-color edits.
Reception and Party
The garden below the Monastery, with its warm lights, was chosen for the dinner.
The cake cutting and party, with a cocktail bar and DJ, took place in the pool area.
Guests and friends danced until late into the night, full of energy and joy.
